DINNER AND CAMPING

Dinner was an omlette that I made out of two eggs I just picked up out of the nest, and peppers and greens and green beans I picked out of the garden. Toast made out of homemade bread. Yum

Campout this weekend: Cubscout Cuboree!!! Nothing like hanging with about 200 wired grade school boys in 300 acres of woods with no running water, portable toilets, no electricity, tents, sleeping bags, camp fires, spooky stories, and a huge mud pit to play in!

Yep I said no running water.

Camp will be done at Noon on Sunday....then the Cowboys play so home to shower and off to Sissys house.

When I get back I am starting this:

HOMEMADE GINGER ALE

Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 lemon, juiced water

Directions
Into an empty 2-liter soda bottle, put the ginger root, sugar, yeast, and lemon juice. Fill the rest of the way with water. Screw the cap onto the bottle as tight as possible. Shake the bottle well, then leave at room temperature until the bottle is too hard to squeeze, about 2 days. Refrigerate. To serve, pour through a tea strainer.

I took monday off recoupe, clean house do outside work and finish planting and working in the garden.

I like homemade ginger ale, though I've not made it in a while. Haven't ever successfully done root beer.

You are going to have so much fun!

Faith, I am back home. Camp is set up. Kids are there with their mom and having a ball. They were building a fire when I left to come home and feeding baby chicks. Going back tomorrow. Should be a fun wild day!
