GOODIES AND BADIES FROM THE GARDEN

Picked the rest of the onions and the garlic from the garden. The garlic was planted at the wrong time of year and it was simply left over cloves from a store bought head that I didn't want to be wasted.

Onions are small too but very sweet.

Started beer sourdough today...should be ready in a week.

Ok I need help id'ing this bad bug. I know it is fuzzy. I believe it is a tobacco horned worm. I knew it was somewhere in the tomato patch because I saw the huge piles of caterpillar poo it was leaving behind.

SPICY LUNCH

Most people don't each hot soup when it is 93 degrees outside but I was in the mood for somthing spicy; So I broke out a package of smoked very spicy mexican pork and made up a batch of seasoned potato soup and added the pork to the soup!

Man talk about your nose running. This would be really good when it is 20 degrees outside.

Tonight dinner was scrambled eggs right out of the hen house with chopped
onions from the garden and chopped jalepenos too.

Ok I am feeling rather spicy today. Wonder why?

NEW BABY GOONIES

I worked all morning and got home at about 3:40pm. Driving down my dirt road, with the beautiful blue sky and the hot temps and puffy while clouds, I was thinking today would be a great day for my little baby guineas to come into the world.

I pulled into the driveway and noticed that momma was off her nest standing with the daddys.

Then I saw a tiny movement and raced for my camera.

When I got back daddys were across the yard and momma was back on the nest. She only growled slightly when I took these photos.

It is hard to believe that these little cuties will grow up to be as ugly as momma.

AND AS WE ALL KNOW THIS WILL BE A BLACK SWALLOW TAIL ONE DAY...HOPEFULLY

IT LIKES MY DILL. GUESS I BETTER PLANT MORE

HOW TO FOLD A BLANKET

IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION...DID THE BLANKET EVER GET FOLDED? YEP...RIGHT AFTER THEY WENT HOME. :)

WHITES AND YOLKS

This morning scrambled eggs were the breakfast of choice. The problem? Well the oldest grandson only likes the whites.

Yes I know...I spoil them sometimes.

That meant we have a bunch of yolks left over. So I scrambled them too. Believe it or not they don't taste too good this way....too eggy.

So the left overs of each went into the frig and will be added to the dogs dish for the next few nights to add minerals and vitamins for his fur.

BLACKBERRY DINNER

After a morning with a migraine, and an afternoon working from home, I finally got outside at about 7pm and took a walk around the land.

Came back with about 2 more cups of juicy blackberries which will be my dinner.

With a little milk and a little dirty fuzzy kitty, it will be a wonderful evening.

About a week ago a very dear friend gave me a good sized turkey! This past weekend I baked it and made two wonderful meals with my grand boys.

Today I reduced the broth and will make a very rich addition to tomorrow nights dinner of stir fry, de-boned the rest of the meat. In the refrigerator are 6 more meals for me, two bowls of kitty food (one is already gone), a half a cup of broth that would not fit into the jar but will be a good snack since dinner was only blackberries. And last but not least...the carcass made a wonderful meal for Bull

GOOD USE OF LITTLE DAYLIGHT

On the drive home I was thinking about what I could do with the little bit of daylight I would have left. (Maybe 30 minutes if I was lucky)

Mow this....clean up that...plant the other thing...none of them sounded fun after an 11.5 hour day.

One thing for sure I was going to brew a pot of fire coffee so that it was ready in the morning. for some reason these days the thought of making a good pot of coffee at 4:45am is just too much for me. So as I type I can smell that wonderful smell coming from the kitchen and I can hear the perculator performing a miracle.

It came to me when I pulled in the driveway. Just for fun I would throw on some shorts and grab a container and take a walk along the fence line and check for blackberries.

I can't believe I didn't do this with the boys on Sunday. This would have been a great outing.

4 cups of wonderful sweet juicy blackberries. Enough for 2 batches of homemade blackberry icecream made with local raw milk from Lucky Layla Farm in Plano,TX.

I will get the milk tomorrow and take it and the berries to my Mom and Dad who have a great new icecream maker. Yum
