I put out this bait last night and was amazed at what I found.
After I took this photo, I inverted a drinking glass over the bait holder just to see how long it takes this poison to work.
If you can help me ID these ants I would be grateful. I can't find them online.
PM picture; all still alive--

AS OF RIGHT NOW...ALL THE ANTS UNDER THE GLASS ARE STILL ALIVE
Could it be a poison that is designed to be taken back to the nest and fed to the younguns, causing death of the colony within a couple weeks?
The two things I have always done for ants is to discourage them by sprinkling cinnamon all over the place. They don't like it!
Also, when you kill an ant, leave the body where the others can find it. They are serious colonies and it seems to discourage them to see their comrades fallen. You've seen take the dead back to the nest - I think they judge a place too dangerous to the colony when they find a lot of deaths.
When they are really bad, I spray the trail in the house with Raid. I also leave all the dead there for a couple of weeks, so when the smell wears off, they still have that.
I've not failed yet. I hope it's my methods and not just dumb luck. LOL

It doesn't say so but maybe. What I don't see though is new ants coming to the kitchen. You may have it right. maybe once the hive has eaten it they get too sick to move around a lot. Most of the ants are still alive today but they are lethargic
Ants are still alive under the glass. I put out a new bait though and it is still there and no more ants are coming in to the house...I wonder why?
They finally died. Today....after I squished the last two still walking around. Makes me really wonder why the rest disappeared.
Ants are sure interesting creatures. I'd rather learn about them from an educational video than from waging war with them in my house.
Glad they are gone!!!!
