HOMEMADE DINNER BY J MY OLDEST GRANDSON

Sorry I didn't have time to take photos! They were scarfing it by the time I got home. J made homemade pizza all by himself! And he made a chocolate cherry dump cake. It is cooling right now and smells so good.

I went with my sister so that she would have moral support while she got a tattoo. This isn't just a mid life crisis. This is special.

She and her son had an inside joke. He heard the song The Rose one night online and had never heard it before. It is such a chick song and so mushy that he was embarrassed that he liked it.

But then she would hear him singing to it and they would sing to it together.

So this rose is for Michael. We miss him so much.

On another emotionally trying note...I had to give away my horse today.

Sometimes you have (or your horse has) worn out their welcome and you don't even know it. Then it slaps you in the face. After 5 years of feeding animals for the owner of the barn where Sweetheart was, they suddenly began to treat me as if I were a criminal or bad person. So I made a call and gave her to my grandboys other grandfather. He is a good horse man and he will train her so the boys can ride her.

Although I know I will get to see her, to be treated this way after so long, by people who should know me was very traumatizing. He threw out the fact that he could be charging $350 per month for her to stay there but wasn't.

And so I am horse-less

SO FAR IN THE KITCHEN

Ok this is really bad. I found left over chicken and dumplings. I haven't made chicken and dumplings in probably 6 months!!!

I can't believe how empty it is.

On the way home I treated myself to new candles. This is a little old house that has been converted by a woman who makes candles and a man who makes decorative iron work.

Last night I burned Vanilla Leather. It is my favorite.

GETTING READY TO HIT THE KITCHEN

But it's soooo hard. I could hardly get out of bed this morning because I was so sore. I know...keep doing this and I won't be sore so easily any more.

I just got done eating pasta with avacado, saute'd garlic, the 1 little banana pepper from the garden and collard greens from the garden mixed with alfredo sauce. And I am sitting listening to a soft spring rain with some rumblings off to the east.

I am sure my bunnies don't like their first outside rain but they are covered with plastic and know that after the mess I cleaned up they will have to get over it.

Sorry no pics. Too lazy!

DONE FOR THE WEEKEND

I have nothing left and I still have to go feed horses. You can't walk into my kitchen...all of the kitchen belongings were taken there as I cleaned the other rooms. I still have the laundry room, guest bath and guest bedroom to go.

Then I start outside!

Big change though...the bunnies are no longer inside. I can not believe how dirty they are. Their potty doesn't stay in the cage! And the dust they put out was amazing.

I washed down all of the woodworks and furniture in the living room and vacumed twice. I finally feel that I have my living room back!

They will not like it outside this summer but the hot tub will shade them during the hot part of the day.

While cleaning I found a heavy metal box. When I opened it I found my flint and bone collection. We had a deer lease in the 80's that had an old indian camp on it. I spent my time hunting arrow heads while my husband hunted or slept. I will put these here for now but will make a small cactus garden in a pretty pot soon.

EASY DISTRACTIONS WHILE CLEANING

Ok so I am easily distracted when I am doing something I don't like. I hate spring cleaning....but look what is building a nest right in my front yard!! This is a Red Bellied Woodpecker.

And here is evidence that I am still doing what I am supposed to do. You can now walk into the front door and not trip on something.

And I have moved my winter coats to the back room. They are still laying on the bed awaiting the cleaning of the master closet which I hope to take place tonight before bed. I now have a place to put my carpet cleaner and vacume.

ROOMS 2 & 3 COMPLETE

I just came back home from having dinner with my sister and parents, walked into my bathroom and it smelled weird. It took me a moment to realized that is smelled clean. That is really bad when I don't recognize that smell!

I made a mistake though. After being awake since 4am, I should have waited to make the bed. Full tummy and a soft bed with clean sheet? I won't be finishing spring cleaning tonight.

ROOM 1 COMPLETE--REST OF THE HOUSE? DISASTER

Bedroom 1 is complete. I can not believe how much trash and give aways came out of that one room!!!

It looks bare now. but I found a use for the rustic desk that was taking up too much space in the living room. I moved the little book shelf into my bedroom because I needed more book space there.

Officially when the sheets are done and the beds are made it will be complete. The closet is empty and ready for camping gear. That will be the official storage place for all things camp.

Here is why I do not shop early for Christmas. I found these in the closet. Who knows how long they have been there. Who knows who they were for. So now they are mine and I will use them for cooking fresh veggies over an open fire this summer.

It stormed last night which was a good thing. Here you can see the new mulch and my bi colored kitchen garden.

I wish I could hide the a/c unit. The green plants just in front of the a/c are sprouts from a cut down tree. They will be sprayed with vinegar today. When I think they are dead...next year maybe...I will drill holes in them and plant a pumpkin seed in each stump. Pumpkins roots will break up the stump faster.

The rain water was great for the garden. The bush beans are thriving. Today I will try to get yard long beans planted around the sweet corn.

The spaghetti squash is getting their real leaves and the khalorabi is thriving.

Okra and cucumbers too.

I can not believe the tomatos. I will trim some of the leaves off so that the plant will put more energy into setting fruit.

Today's lunch will include this little banana pepper, salad from the back garden gathered while I pull the broccoli plants and most of the collard plants, and plant some watermelon and cantelopes.

I love these rocks. I just don't know what to do with them yet. I have many more that I want to move around from the front bed.Good morning guinea family.

I love the spring green.
